Impact Sockets vs. Wrench Sockets

Why the different labels and how come impact sockets are usually black while wrench sockets are not?

Impacts have much thicker walls to be used with an impact wrench. Wrench sockets will break under the pressure of an impact wrench.

Impact sockets are black I think just to help distinguish them from the normal sockets.
