All I know is that if lots and lots of people here thing Ron Paul is a nut he is doubtless onto some deep aspect of truth. There are none more despised than those with vision. We hate people who are not afraid to see what we can't look at.

First time voting perry404? To anyone who has followed or been active in politics knows this. But yeah, I suppose the RP nuts need some help getting up to speed on election procedures.

Criminies what are people so afraid of? Over 50% of Americans don't vote. We are at a crucial juncture in American history. I never knew voter information could be so threatening.

I'm not afraid of RP or his followers. My comments were in regards to why you think it's necessary to make this out to be something radical and/or new.

Why do you keep bringing up Ron Paul? Yes I've posted Ron Paul threads. What does that have to do with this thread?
By the way thanks for the bumps. It's important to get this info out.:)

Because his supporters seem to be the least informed about how politics and the process works.

If that argument were true(not saying it is) what then? We shouldn't educate them?
They shouldn't vote?

You can spam his own site then. But that's probably where you got this so...

Yeah, they shouldn't vote...

Procedure:

1. Figure out who you want to win.

2. Figure out the least likely person to win against your candidate in the opposite party.

3. Register for opposite party.

4. Vote for person least likely to win.

5. ?

6. Profit!

I would post it on a Ron Paul forum...if it was for Ron Paul. It's not. It's for everyone.

Come to think of it, Ron Paul as the nominee won't be that bad. He's already torched himself with 2 third rails, social security and Medicare. If he wins, he's bound to lose the GE.

Nice. The irony is that with the attacks, RP gets more traction. This has happened everytime they tried to attack him in the debates, MSM interviews, and it's no doubt worked here. Thanks guys! :cookie:

That's why they stopped attacking him. After the fox debate the other frontrunners did their damnedest to ignore Paul.

No... no ... and no.

If your candidate loses the primary or for that matter wins the primary all that means is that they either have X less or X more delegates that will until released vote for the candidate at the convention. The candidate may have enough delegates to gain the nomination or they might not. If no one candidate has enough delegates to win nomination then the fun begins and the politicians might release their delegates to either vote for another designated candidate or vote for whomever the delegate desires.

A prime primary example -
<a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Hampshire_primary">" Before 1992 the person elected president had always carried the primary, but Bill Clinton broke the pattern in 1992, as did George W. Bush in 2000. Moreover, the winner in New Hampshire has not always gone to win his party's nomination, as demonstrated by Republicans John McCain in 2000 and Pat Buchanan in 1996.

Plus the OP looks like a copy/paste from an RP spam mail/posting

Yeah, all there's been a real rash of Ron Paul spam recently with no mention at all of Ron Paul. They're getting so sneaky with their advertisments now that they're not even mentioning his name! Slippery sonsabitches.

Oh he's totally a nut. But, he's actually the most sane of all the Republican nominees.

It's more complicated than just the technical side of allocating delegates. Winners in the early primaries build momentum, and after a strong showing people in other states jump on the bandwagon. It's not so much about delegates as it is wanting to back the apparent winner.

Paul is not going to win any of the primaries and that will seal his fate.

I feel like I have the plague during the primaries.....

I've been a registered Independent for almost two decades and have always lived in states with closed primaries. Sucks to be me (and millions of others). Unless you have been or are willing to be a partisan, you have no real voice until the evils have already been chosen and you have to pick between the lessor of them. :(
