Immigrants Caught in Mexico

http://www.cnn.com/2011/WORLD/americas/05/17/mexico.migrants/index.html?hpt=T2

Two trucks carrying 513 Immigrants from South America were caught trying to get into the southern border of Mexico. This gives new meaning to a highway allowing trucks travel to the USA from Mexico. They were detected because the trucks have to go through some kind of x-ray scanner. I wonder how it feels to travel like a giant can of sardines?

I wonder if trucks full of immigrants manage to get through our southern borders?

Rush: Looks like the Democrats are starting their "Get out the vote" program early."

C'mon, that's funny as hell.

Really? They had to use X-ray?
The border guards couldn't be bothered to peek over the side of the bed?

For shame.

Its not in the Mexican government's interest to allow any illegal aliens in the US except Mexicans. All those illegal Mexican immigrants send money home to mama, save the rest, and spend it when go back to Mexico.

As for what sardines in a can feel like, the Tokyo bullet trains are so packed they have guys on the platform whose only job is to help people stuff all their arms and legs into the train.

513 people times $7000/head is over 3 1/2 millon bucks. I assume that money stays in Mexico??

Sneaking illegals into the US is big business.

Yeah, but they make money off them whether they're Mexican or not and its the law of supply and demand. Right now the economy is so bad some illegals have been returning to Mexico and those that do just place a further burden on the Mexican economy. Those that don't continue to send money home to mama.

These aren't Greyhound buses either and the coyotes get paid whether you get across the boarder or not.

The Mexican economy can't be too bad if your claim that Mexicans can afford to pay $7000 to get smuggled into this country is true.

They charge as much as $17,000.oo. Its the whole justification for the border patrol. If its too easy to cross nobody pays! If too many die, it looks bad. In other words, its a business like any other. The illegals from South America don't have any more money either, its likely their life savings, and they could get turned back the minute they make it across. However, just one kid born in the US could become a citizen and feed the whole damn village. Reminds of when Jimmy Carter sent basket ball equipment to the Masai in Africa. Everyone criticized him as being racist, but his rationale was it was cheap, their naturally tall, and just one of them going professional could feed a whole village. He was right.

Why would anyone from Mexico have a problem with us handling illegal invader Mexican's the same way their own country handles illegals?

I guess by asking that, you're saying they shouldn't, right?

Why would you want people to define what happened in Mexico in terms of US politics?

Because it's the same political issue? I thought this was a politics forum.

It's quite obvious why they're not responding to this thread. I'll leave it up to you to figure out why.
