I just had a pop-up from Google Chrome on my Windows 7 machine telling me that I should have Java installed and offering an OK button to push.
I closed the tab but I'm concerned how it got on my machine.
I was on the Google Finance page.

Goggling, I found that domain, listed in the title of my post, is less than a month old.

Comments welcome.
Thanks.

Most rogue website tactics involve updating Flash, Java, drivers, Windows, etc.. This is no different. I recall an article from not too long ago that when somebody had a sacrificial computer download all kinds of this crap and analyzed the outgoing traffic, some of it was going to the CIA :hmm:

It may have just been a browser pop-up and nothing was loaded onto your system, but run a Malwarebytes scan (free) to be sure.

Can you provide any link or hints to find that above mentioned article, sounds interesting and I've been thinking of doing a similar research project.

Definitely! I'll try to track it down, I think one of my friends sent it my way, hang tight.

I wouldn't touch Chrome with a ten foot pole. I run Pale Moon with the Add-on Noscript. That's like a door before the anti-virus and I would run Sandboxie.
