so i got a condo in maui and i want to get a car for when im there. nothing fancy, just something that i can use maybe 5-10 times a year. i dont know much about cars, but based on whats easily available there and talking to other people im considering kia soul and ford focus. are either of these particularly bad or good. what otha brands/models should i consider?

thats what i have been doing, but there are times when there are no cars available, and there are times when the cost of renting even an economy car is ridiculous. i dont want to deal with that anymore. also i let other people stay there and i want to have a car there for guests

Your options are extremely limited on Maui... You'll end up buying what you find. Just look on Craigslist. Unless you're buying a new car, in which case, holy crap you must have money to burn.
