Imitation or flattery? ATI's driver selector..

Why do they list all the GPU's once you hit the radeon button?

Don't they all use the same damn driver anyway?

And what did they use to be like?

Ahh, but gersson - NVIDIA and Creative have had relations in the past. ATI and NVIDIA however... ooooooh noooooo... fanbois MUST become aware of this! 😛

Dont see anything different here, ATI have copied Nvidia before!.........

SLI, SM3, HDR, Unified driver, etc. Watch I bet ATI will put out a DirectX 10 card now that NVIDIA has one. 😛

Erm - I believe SM3 and HDR were ATI "innovations".

The funny thing - ATI has a DX10 driver but no hardware for Vista, but NVIDIA has DX10 hardware but no driver. Ironic eh?

Yeah, better stick with Intel Extreme Graphics and avoid all their ironies

I'm afraid that's all we can afford in the near future the way the new g/c costs nowadays.

I'm not sure whether ATI or NVIDIA did it first on their website, but:

1) ATI has had a thing like that for a long time (at least 2 years) -- they just changed the layout a bit recently.

2) A lot of sites use very, very similar layouts for driver/program update downloads. I'm pretty sure that neither NVIDIA nor ATI invented that.

No, NVIDIA brought that out with the 6800 series along with purevideo. ATI followed up about 2 years later along with AVIVO.

Honestly does it really mattter? It's just a driver download page.

Some people really do have too much time on their hands, methinks.

Well DX10 at the very least is neither an Nvidia nor an ATI "innovation" - Microsoft laid down the specs; ATI and Nvidia are merely conforming to them with their next-gen hardware [NV: current gen].

Next ATI will switch to using the color green.

Of course they will, being part of AMD. Too bad AMD has been around for much longer than Nvidia, right? :disgust:

What a pointless thread.

My post, much like this thread was a joke. Sigh, some people just take this stuff waaaaaay too seriously.
