nero 7.... unexpected format is the error message i get when i try to burn a .img.
funny think is....the icon for the .img is a nero icon....what can i do to burn this file

Is it a CD or DVD img? You can try DVDDecrypter if it's DVD. There used to be a program called fireburner or something like that, that worked well with .img.

Are you sure it's a valid IMG file?

Try mounting it with Daemon Tools or something similar to see if it's legit or corrupted, then try burning it.

Nero will not burn IMG files. At one point it did but for whatever reason They removed support for the IMG format from the program. Download a program called "ImgBurn" its written buy the same guy who did DVD Decrypter. Its essentially an updated version of Decrypter without the "DVD Ripping" function.

Took the words right off of my keyboard. This is my first method of approach once I have an untested image to burn..

burned fine with decrypter...starting to hate nero now...it'll puts its icon on the img file but wont do anyting with it...nice work nero:|

Alcohol 120% FTW! i have always had problems like that with nero. i bought nero7 because i thought i could use it for everything, and then i had to go out and buy 3 more programs to do everything i need to do.

Nero is getting so bloated it's not even funny.

Now they add Nero Scout spyware to your system too :|

I wish some other company would step up & make something that burns most everything like Nero does.

We're all assuming that you bought the CD and that the EUL does not say that you cant make an image... right?

rename the file to be .iso, and it will burn in nero and any other program perfectly
