Imation 8X20 to plextor question

Alright, I know I'm way behind but I finally flashed my imation to a plextor after thinking I had to to run a certain software. I have not flashed the firmware though. Should I get Plextor's 1.07 firmware? Will I see any benefit? Is there anything wrong with leaving the imation firmware, I'd rather be safe than sorry. TIA

You should get Plextor's 1.07 firmware if you want to try to run CloneCD. Your drive might not work with CloneCD though if it was manufactured before March '99 or if it doesn't have a certain TLA. I'm not 100% sure.

You might as well leave it with Plextor's firmware. You might see some improvements with each version. I'm guessing Plextor puts out new firmware revisions much more often than Imation.

I have had one of these drives for almost a year now, and have always run it with the Plextor firmware, never any problems still burning strong. I would go for it.. Plextor is always updating, much more than I think Imation would. Good luck..
