Imation 50pk CDRs 16X $8.99 at CUSA

I was ringing these out today, they came up at about $9 for a 50 pack. I think they were the 80 min CDRs. They were still marked $25 on the shelf. This is a great deal - I think Imation is the best CDR we carry, and definitely one of the best around.

Nothin wrong with them, they're great CDRs, but we're cleaning out inventory because we have the 24X in, and the 32X are coming soon.

The last time I checked, all Imations are made by CMC Magnetics, a company that manufactures for prime peripherals and store cheapies. I don't know if CMC makes special high quality batches for Imation, but I'd use made in Japan Fuji's or TDK's anytime over Imation.

but $9 for 50pk does sound real good if it doesn't involve slow ass rebates. Which CompUSA was this?

These are the same Imations that Circuit City had for $3 after rebate($27.99 regualr) a few weeks ago. I was going to go back and price match when Compusa had these for $14.99, but never got around to it. Looks like I will have to stop by tomorrow to get this adjusted hopefully. See this thread about Circuitcity.

Here is the link to the Cd's at Compusa, ignore the 16x label, the only thing that matters is the part number. Linky

Here they are at Circuit City for $29.99.

Looks like I will be getting paid $16 for these Cd's! Bought at circuit city for $8.99 and rebates of $15 and $10 respectively! As always YMMV.

so im hoping the 8.99 does not have to deal with rebates of any sort. i hate rebates even if they are free.

DAICA,
Click on my link to Compusa and you will see them listed as $8.99 with no strings attached. Or go to Compusa and search for item #41182.

personally I used to love Imations, but recently the last couple months
I think they have gone to crap. Before you couldnt see thru them they were darker
then they are now. Now you can see right thru them, which worries me about
"flaking" in the long run. But for 8 bucks a 50 back, can't pass up to get a couple
to burn stuff for friends.
🙂

Sweet! FINALLY a deal I can actually go pick up... no rebates, no PMs no NOTHING, just a damn good deal! Thanks!

So does that mean Circuit City STILL has those rebates going on? I already made $10 off those rebates, but if thye are doing the rebate thing again... Imma have to buy some more 😀

These can also be gotten at OM for $7.99 after MIR ($14.99). Or, if your OM is nice, they will PM CompUSA's $8.99 price, then use the MIR and make about $4 after tax and postage. I did this earlier this morning at my local OM. See the OM thread for these Imation disks for more details.

oddly enough most TDKs these days are CMC magnetics discs. 🙂

the sku is actually 275955. thanks for the link
people don't call, i think you can just check stock by typing in zip code...

Spac3d,
CC rebates are over but the have a low price gaurantee for 30 days from the date of purchase. Just go back and have them match the new low price. They might do it for you are they may give you a hard time?

Low price guarantee

The key phrase in jerboy's comment is made in Japan. Made in Japan TDKs are Taiyo Yudens. Some made in Taiwan TDKs I just bought last week are Riteks.

Awesome deal! Thanks! I hate waiting for rebates and such. I went to the web-site, printed out the link (just in case). Went to the store - the probably had ~30 on the shelf. Tagged at $25 but rang up at $9!! Wohoo! I purchased 3, but I'm considering going back to get more!

Although the web-site says they are the 16x variety... the ones I purchased are 24x!!

Thanks for the great deal!

Cool. Thanks! I got spoiled by all the free after rebate ones, but no rebate hassles are nice sometimes too! Gonna pick some up at my local CompUSA (website says they still have them). But I know there are fellow AT'ers around my area (Salt Lake) so I better hurry. Hopefully they're all down at the Medals Ceremony tonight!

Curse you, Paladiin, I was going to go to the downtown store and stock up tonight, but I don't get off work until late. 🙁

Maybe I can get Staples to PM in the AM.
