IMAPI CD-Burning COM Service in Windows XP

In Windows XP, do I need this service enabled if I don't use Windows XP's built in CD recording and use other CD burning software instead (such as Nero, RecordNow Max, Roxio)? Or is this service required to be on manual or automatic for doing any kind of CD burning even with a 3rd party program like I mentioned above?

As long as your 3rd party app does not rely on it, then you don't need it. Off the top of my head I'm not sure if Roxio needs it or not. I know Nero does not. Set it to manual and if a program needs it then it will start it. BTW this should be in the OS forum.
