IMAP software

what do you use?

outlook doesn't seem to work very well with IMAP.. I hate how it just puts lines through the message when you delete.. I know I can goto purge afterwards.. but why have to do the 2 steps? it's annoying.

since outlook annoyed me I tried downloading thunderbird, I like it a lot better.. but I can't sync with my wm5 phone very well.. contacts/calender/notes/email.

what do you use?

for PC (windows)
for phone? (wm5)

That's how IMAP works, deleted messages are marked as deleted and then expunged at a later time, like deleting files via the recycle bin. I believe there's an option to hide deleted messages if you don't like to see them.

yeah I know, I just don't like it.

in thunderbird when you delete a message it sends them to it's trash folder.. but on the web where it syncs.. it creates a new folder called "trash" and just moves them to it.

I like this better.

Even when you move messages it still has to do the delete, expunge pair of operations before it's really gone and I think TBird just defaults to hiding them from you while Outlook defaults to showing them.

I do think that TBird is a better IMAP client than Outlook, although it's not that great either. Good IMAP clients are really hard to come by.
