Arrrrrggggggh!!!

So I wonder why I don't do apples updates and I'm reminded again and again. Went from 5.1 to 6.1.3 and now my gmail wont work with mail on my ipad2.

Before the fix had been narrowed down to simply shutting down and restarting the iPad. Now, nothing works. I've rebooted everything under the sun, even erased settings and nothing fixes it. I've signed in and out of gmail via browser on the iPad (per apple forum suggestion) and still nothing.

I'm open to suggestions.

TIA

Oh for the sweet love of all things holy.......

Here's what worked for me.......and you're gonna love this one.......

Go into settings, mail and delete account. Yes, delete account! Don't worry, it won't delete jack shit!! I shut down and restarted the iPad thinking I would be making the account all over again, but for giggles I went right to the mail app to see if any of the old stuff would still be there. Well, not only was it still there........the new mails all loaded and all is fine now.

Went back into settings and checked to see if my old email account was still there? And of course it was. Heck, all I asked it to do was delete it. It's not like I really meant it, right?

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH!

I'll have to remember to simply crack my iPad in half if I ever go to sell it. I trust apple like I trust the fvcking devil himself!

Ya, there are probably better options, I just can't stand when things don't work like they're supposed to. Or heck, I could just access my mail via browser and forget about any local client but I just want stuff to work right.

I've calmed down since last night but we'll see what the next update brings. :p

IMAP has been working essentially flawlessly on my iPhone and iPad for the last 3 years. I love it.
