Hi guys.
I am at my wits end here.
At work, I have just put up two PCs which are supposed to be used by multiple employees. Most of them have a PC each, but the two PCs are better located for some of them.
The users log on to an AD controlled domain, but use IMAP via Outlook 2007 to get their mails (stupid setup, I know. A very strange top level management decision).
I cannot connect to IMAP on the 2 PCs. Or, that is, sometimes I can. Outlook freezes for a long time when I try, and ends up with a generic "Cannot connect" error.
I know that mailservers, usernames and passwords are correct. I have tried Thunderbird as well, with the same result.
The 2 PCs are HP Elite 8100s. I have tried reinstalling windows on both. Right now, one of them has a clean Win7 Pro installation, and the other have HPs bloated installation. No difference.
I have tried Win7 SP1 and Office 2007 SP2. No difference.
I have tried replacing the switch. No difference.
Thing is, for some users it works. But I can find no rhyme or reason why.
I have tried creating a user which have both Exchange (yes, we do an Exchange license. No, I cannot fathom why we are not simply using Exchange instead) and IMAP access. If I try connecting to Exchange, and then connecting to IMAP, it works.
I am at my wits' end here. Have any of you guys experienced something similar?
