Question Imaging boot drive vs cloning

I want to make a clone of one of my boot drives. If I image the drive and then restore the image to another hard drive will that give me the same result as cloning the drive?

Yes. With the added benefit that you can store several images on an external drive.
I use the built in "Back up and restore" built into windows. The only drawback, is the drive you restore the image to has to be the same size or larger than the original.

I think the Boot system must be the same also?
( CSM vs UEFI )

I trying to remember if I had to do a new install when I tried to migrate to UEFI
( clone failures trying to re-image from a CSM clone to new UEFI )

Anyone have this issue ?
