I need to transfer my 80 gig Vista sata drive image onto a new larger 250 gig sata drive.
Both drives are WD'S and the last time I imaged a 10 years ago drive I used ghost.
Do DOS based boot floppies still work ? Thats the last thing I used with ghost.
What would be the best software for this task ?

Runtime Software's DriveImage XML is free, and they have a cab module for the BartPE boot CD builder, so that when BartPE boots off CD DriveImageXML is available from the desktop menu. It's pretty slick given the cost :).

DriveImage XML is good for free.
Or if you want to spend the cash, Norton Ghost 12.
I like ghost 12 alot and use it to copy my c drive after I have done a clean windows install.
The next time I need a clean install I can just image the drive back in a few minutes and not have to reinstall drivers, etc.

Dos based floppies will not work.
Partitions now are all NTFS and while there is a ntfs for dos program, it would be a nightmare to try to image a drive this way.

Then I transfered data from one hd to a larger one I used Migrate Easy. It isn't free, but I don't want to lose my data using free unsafe software.
