Images not all loading with IE

I thought it was just a connection problem, but then I loaded up Mozilla, and it works perfectly fine. How come? It didn't use to do this. Any idea what it might be? I know it has nothing to do with cookies since anything involving that works just fine (staying logged in, etc) - but maybe something to do with a popup killer that I use? But as far as I know that doesn't block any images or banners, so I don't see how it could be that either.

ugh, I'm stumped :(

That's why I wasn't really concerned at first, cause it's not incredibly uncommon for such a thing to happen. But it doesn't happen at all right now with Mozilla. But it happens almost all the time (with a lot of the images) using IE. No other sites are doing that for me.

I'm wondering where the problem can be..

Let me guess. Win XP SP1? If so it did the same thing to me and others. I uninstalled SP1 and it is fine.

Win2K Pro / SP3 (I belive) and I have the same problems. Is there a timeout value somewhere or something?

I do have SP3 for Win2K. Maybe Win2K SP3 and WinXP SP1 are affected in similar ways? That's pretty gheigh if you ask me. I would use Mozilla, but there are too many little things that I prefer about IE. If IE had tabbed browsing and didn't have this imbecilic problem it'd be perfect.

OK for some reason this fixed it. I was going to uninstall IE6 or SP1 for IE6 or something - and there was a "REPAIR" option, so I tried it out. So far it seems to be working just fine now! Weird!

Try it out if you haven't already!

The only site that I have a problem with is forums.anandtech.com (or subscriber.anandtech.com) -and that's only after I updated to WinXP SP1. As long as I load the page, one or two pictures won't load - like a certain smilie won't load throughout the entire page. Or a certain avatar. If I refresh, I get that one working, but then a different couple don't load.
