Details. At work the shipping department has a UPS Worldship computer that is on its last legs. The PC is an old Dell from 8 years ago. The UPS worldship SW runs its own SQL server and the system has many shares that tie into other UPS systems.

Anyway, I made an Acronis image and reimaged the HD and to another drive. I put the new drive into a new PC and of course it doesnt boot into XP. Tried safe mode and all that jazz. Get to the starting Windows XP screen and reboots which is what I expected it to do being that the original system is so freaking old.

So, I was going to reinstall XP over the newely imaged drive on a new PC.

Questions:

Do I run a repair installation or what? I havent done these things in years. Or do I reinstall over it? I need the SQL and UPS and the shares to remain exactly as is. On other thing, the old system was on XP SP3 and my corporate XP disc is SP2, will that be an issue?

Any help/insight would be appreciated.
