This is something I have experienced for quite awhile and I haven't ever figured it out. Whenever I use Internet Explorer to view many images consecutively (from digital cameras, for example), eventually the images will "open" but nothing will be displayed in the Explorer window. I've never kept track of exactly how many MB of files it takes to cause this, but the larger the file sizes, the quicker it happens. For example, if I open about 50 or so 1.3MB files, they start blanking out. Before you make any assumptions about what causes this, please note:
1) This has happened with 3 completely different systems with completely different hardware over a period of about 4 years.
2) RAM in these systems has varied between 96MB & 512MB (currently).
3) It has only been with Win95B & Win98SE (currently). (I know, I know, I should buy XP...whatever)
4) Recovering RAM with MemTurbo & similar programs does not help.
5) Messing with the cache does not help.
Is this a known problem with IE? I have Photoshop, Quicktime, etc. - many other ways to view images. But I like the fact that IE doesn't need to open new windows when double-clicking image files consecutively.
Anyone?
