image to new SSD or reinstall?

I am getting a Vertex 3 and was planning on simply cloning my magnetic disk to the SSD with Trueimage 2011. Is there any reason this may cause performance loss, does this cause issues with TRIM? What if my magnetic disk is fragmented? Should I just fresh install?

Imaging the drive to an SSD will work, assuming of course that you don't have more data than can physically fit onto the SSD. Some imaging tools don't align partitions properly for use with SSDs, so check to see if Truimage 2011 does. It they don't mention it, it's a safe bet that it doesn't.
