I'm thinking about getting a smart watch and the IMacwear version of the M7 has caught my eye. Do any of you have this watch and if so how do you like it? How well does the heart rate monitor work for you? Have you had any issues with water penetration? I've looked at cheaper watches but if I'm going to spend money I'd rather spend a little more up front and get a better product than to just spring for a $30 unit that will probably fail early on if I get caught outside in a heavy rain storm.

Unfortunately, I don't think you're going to get many answers from real users on this one. It's a pretty niche device, and those of us who have smartwatches tend to gravitate toward either the Apple Watch (like me) or Android Wear.

Having looked at IMacwear's M7, however, I'd say... don't. It's one of those devices that tries to do it all, but (based on a handful of reviews) does it all badly. If you're looking for a relatively rough-and-tough watch, you're probably better off with the Moto 360 Sport.

I looked at it again and their service here in the states is wretched to say the least. I also looked at the no. 1 D5 which is fully featured as well but ended up going with the original Samsung gear live as it was on sale at groupon plus I got another $6 for using ebates making it only $93 shipped. I needed a heart rate monitor and it has it plus the cpu is a snapdragon quad core along with having a square screen so I think that it will keep me for a while.

Dont skimp on a smartwatch. I retired my Gear 2 for an alcatel one watch because I kept losing the charge cradle and the alcatel one had built in usb charge port that charged the watch in any usb port. Well, the POS doesnt charge anymore unless you put sideways pressure on it. And trying to deal with an alcatel RMA is near impossible. I went back to my gear 2.

When I took a look at everything getting the original Samsung gear live made sense to me. I don't need a plethora of capability just yet and the washable watch band is more in line with my needs. I want to be able to wear it while biking and see my heart rate plus the time. I really like the moto 360 gen 2 46mm but it's just too expensive. I also like the lg g watch urbane but I don't want to drop that much money just now on a watch so in the end getting the gear live met all of my goals.
