Do the new imacs just take standard SDRAM? I'm pretty sure they do, but are they picky like older macs? I don't want to buy ram from an apple dealer cause they're rapists .. I'de like to buy from my fave PC store, much cheaper.
Are there brands that are known to have compatability problems?

Also, anyone ever done a ram upgrade to an imac?
I'm thinking that opening those things up would void the warantee.

Standard PC memory will work fine in them. :) PC100 for the imac, I believe.

I have an IMac w/G3 400 because I was working at a recycling center and someone was throwing it away. It had a bad RAM stick, so I just swapped it out with an extra generic PC100 stick I had (also free from work), and it works beautifully. The Imac is now my internet station when I'm laying on the couch.
