I was looking to upgrade the memory of my niece's iMac 333. On Crucial.com i have to pay about $100 for a 256MB PC100 SODIMM for the iMac, while a PC133 SODIMM is $79. Can I use the PC133 vs the PC100? Can I use a generic SODIMM vs one that says it is compatible with the iMac? Can anyone shed some light on the situation for me? Thanks.

PC133 may not work on the iMac. I'd say go with PC100, but don't buy at crucial.

try http://www.googlegear.com/jsp/ProductDetail.jsp?ProductCode=80308-6

they sell Corsair Value Select PC100 256MB for $69 with free 2 day fedex saver

you can even get a Kingston stick for $67 and Micron for $60.

Kingston I can gurantee works 100% in Macs as I have a stick of Kingston PC100 in my old B&W G3 450 which I upgraded with a G4 500
