I just got a new Core i7 7700K with 8 GB RAM and bought an extra 16 GB for a total of 24 GB.

The original 2x4 RAM came in slots 1 and 3 and I was told to just fill in the other two slots with the new RAM. Here is the configuration.

This is my Core i7 870 iMac:

Is one of them incorrectly configured? Actually it looks like they are configured the same, but the table is differently ordered.

BTW, here are the Geekbench 4.1 scores (including memory tests).

It depends on the motherboard.
Some want the matching pairs of DIMMs to be 1 & 3, 2 & 4, others want it to be 1 & 2, 3 & 4....

It probably does not matter to much unless you are running very memory sensitive workloads but from your screen shots, the matched pairs should be in each bank
So the 7700k bank 0 should have both 8GB and bank 1 should have both 4gb
So the i870 bank 0 should have both 4gb and the bank1 should have both 2gb
