imac forgot a lot of settings

Anyone have any idea what is wrong with this mac? It's mac os 10.4.7 and is an 800MHZ G4, thanks.
edit: Happened overnight.
 
check the users folder to see if there is another user other than the one you are login in with. I had that happen on an intel imac where it kernel panic and some how create another user.
was able to copy everything over to the new user with the missing info and all came back
 
Your hard drive may be full to the brim. Or the battery may be empty, that could explain at least problems with preferences or the computer clock.
