iMac - difference between i5 2.7Ghz and i7 3.4Ghz in gaming

I am considering the 2011 model year iMac and want to use BootCamp for Windows for gaming as there is a wider selection of games. Question is if the bigger CPU and possibly a 2GB model of the graphics card will make a significant impact?

I can get corporate discount of about $150 and was going to spend it on the upgrades. There's also the question of extended warranty, are iMac logic boards going south common?

Thanks.

As long as you get the best graphics card, most (barefeats.com) benchmarks don't show a significant difference between the two CPUs. At that high res (25xx by 14xx, is it?) you're GPU limited more than anything.

2GB in that mGPU is a waste for current-gen gaming. No perf. gain.
