I'm writing songs about people, give me ideas....

Lately I've been writing a whole bunch of songs for my band, and we've got instrumentals pretty good, but when it comes to singing, well, lyrics are non-existant for the most part. I have an urge to write some songs about people, kind of like telling about them or what happened to them-telling "their story" so to speak. Sort of Bob Dylan or Ben Folds-ish.

So anyway, bottom line is, if you've got a character (either made-up or that you actually know) that you think I should write a song about, post it here. Thanks.

I had a friend once...he took some acid...now he thinks he's a fire engine.

On an acid related note...I have a friend, now in a mental institution, that thinks he has retractable whales on his feet. They supposedly take him anywhere he wants to go. He also once thought he was running for President. His campaign theme was "Let's take once last spin around the whizzbowl kids!" We call him Sketchy Scott. Feel free to write something about him and his whales.

Dude did a LOT of acid when we were in high school and college.

Another idea is just to watch people. Go to the park/beach/downtown whatever. And just watch people, things like this can usually easily be turned into lyrics. A song that reminds me of this is Tool - Aenima. Talking about all the posers and wannabe's etc.

and Alienwho, that's a good idea, but I can't tell someone's story by seeing them walk by in a park. I could make one up, but that's what I'm trying to get help with here.

How about writing about the goofy Harry Krishna's on the Northeast part of UF's campus that offer a buffet and beat goofy drums and instruments around and chant some babble and wear pink sheets all day? What are they even doing on a campus? Don't they just sit around and have orgies all day?
