I'm working on this machine now. Do you know your power supplies?

I'm trying to figure out why my sister's old Gateway 200MMX machine is hosed. I think it's the power supply. The board doesn't post. No video, no beeps, but, the fans come on and the hard drive spins up. I want to try out another power supply

BUT, the board calls for an ATX 2.01 supply and all I have laying around is an old supply prior to this spec. (The old supply is missing 3.3V to pins 1,2, and 11 which provides +3.3V to the PCI slots. Can I use this old supply to test??

Umm, I wouldn't use it to test it.

I had a Gateway 133 (the 200's were out... not sure about the MMX ones). I'm betting they use similar Power Supplies and mine died a year ago... Bought a new case and PS and everything worked fine.

I wouldn't be surpised if it is the power supply... However, I would test it to be sure unlike me who just guessed and bought a new 70 dollar case to test out my theroy.
