Dunno but let me know what you think of the movie. It's one of those that I think I'd like but not sure.

yes, there are subtitles. i was confused as well.

Thanks! Damn, I wish I would have known that before I watched the first hour. :(

As far as whether I like it or not... I'm confused, but it's also very interesting. But, IMO, at least so far (about an hour in ) , it's not terribly entertaining, although , that's probably because I'm just really confused.

Anyway, I think there are much better films that you could spend your time/money on, two that I really liked that I saw recently were Downfall and Munich.

if you want i can translate for you

<--- persian

edit: there's no long scene where only farsi is spoken. the only part where farsi is spoken is in the very beginning in tehran. after the car bomb, you don't hear any farsi anymore.

Thanks for the offer, I'm going to try and watch it on my DVD player downstairs tommorow night.

There are quite a few seens where they're not speaking English, I just assumed it was Farsi because one of the characters mentioned George Clooney's character spoke it. It's getting more interesting now, I'll tell you all what I think once I've seen it with subtitles.

clooney spoke broken-ass farsi in the beginning... and then when he was at gunpoint in the beginning, he said something in arabic (i'm pretty positive it was arabic because it sure as hell wasn't farsi... it wasn't even close).

Yes, it was Arabic (iirc, the line was something like "I bet you don't even speak Arabic you dog")

I love the movie, and think it is a very enjoyable film, albeit one which requires 100% of you attention since it can be a little confusing at times.

Really, really recommend it.

I watched part of that today...I had English subtitles on anyway - but I know the scene to which you were referring. My oldest son had rented it from RedBox (costs $1 for one-night) so I thought I'd take a peek.

I thought it was a great film, but required one to pay a lot of attention.

The DVD I have has subtitles on by default.

I had to watch Syriana twice to full grasp the idea of what was going on, but if Munich and Downfall are movies that were appealing to you, I'd still recommend Syriana.
