We'll also be making a roadtrip to the grand canyon, but besides that- I'm not sure what else to do.....

Any tips?

Where will you be staying (city)?

Isn't Area 51 in NV?

Exactly what I thought as soon as I saw the thread.

But Grand Canyon is a must.

Flagstaff is pretty cool.

Tons and tons of scenic things to check out.

There's the meteor crater city a little east of Flagstaff. There's Sedona a little south and west of Flagstaff. A little south of Sedona is Montezumas Well. A healthy dose of nature and a little bit of culture in each of those.

If you want to get up to NV; try to see the grand Canyon from the Nevada North Rim.

From AZ, you will have to go through Vegas to get to Area 51. Plenty of things to do in the Vegas area besides the casinos

Area 51 isn't in my state last I checked. Jerome (I think) is a neat hole in the wall kind of town to visit for an afternoon and have some lunch. Not much of a place on it's own, but a great drive. If there isn't snow/ice up there yet. I don't know fo sho, been hitting mid 80s down here in the valley, so you barely even know that it's winter, moreso than usual.

Papago Indian reservation, with very old Christian church.

Go soak up how it really is for the Indians, learn what you briefly can of their culture/mythology/art.

Kitt Peak National Observatory

Kartchner Caverns is a stunning, limestone "living" wet cave in southeastern Arizona boasting many world-class features

Navajo National Monument, Arizona - Cliff Dwellings

Hopi Reservation (did you ever read The Book of Hopi by Frank Waters?)

Starman's meteor crater at Winslow

Sedona & slide rock

Petrified Forest

I've always wanted to see some of the places already posted here like, the Painted Desert, Petrified Forest, Meteor Crater, Monument Valley, Saguaro National Park, etc.
