im using win2k. When i check how much ram i have, how come it gives me the long number instead of just saying 256?

plz help.. i know its something small but it bugs me. I want it to say 256 ram.. not the 6 digit one. In xp, it said 256..

I suspect it is just giving you an exact (6-digit) measure. I don't think 128 or 256 or how ever much RAM you have even comes out as a simple number.

Win2k reads your memory in KB instead of MB.

Whats the problem?

I doubt you can change it, maybe a reg. key or something, but I wouldn't let it bother me. You still have 256MB of ram.

how about you only read the first 3 digits? is this really that big of an issue? come on, 3 digits that you just have to -not look at-.....if it's 143920, then just read the 143.
