My father in law and another old guy are downstairs installing my new range and range hood/microwave combo. My in-laws paid for it all as a gift to my wife and me.

The two old codgers are playing "whats this part used for?" while the instructions lie untouched by human hands on the kitchen table.

Its probably best for everyone that I stay upstairs.

They are trying to install the microwave/hood combo and they don't have a clue. Its going to come crashing down into the glasstop range as soon as they let go of it. I've been going over the directions while trying to give them helpful advice, but they are in the zone.

As the "youngster" of the group, its obvious I don't have a single idea what I'm talking about. And they're mighty suspicious of all those words and diagrams in that there readin' manual.

This is going to end up in heated words and tears from the women, I can just tell.

Dunno why people ignore the instructions. I think that is about one of the stupidest things to do as they get frustrated and end up extremely pissed or return the item.
