I'm trying to think of a credit card.

I'm trying to get my cards and bank accounts and business in order.

I remember about three years ago I signed up for what I think was a Chase credit card. It was touted on Fatwallet for having a ton of cashback, perks, or something. The problem is that something or another happened and I never used the card or never even activated it. I now want to go back and see if I can figure out its status.

Need a dedicated business credit card - recommendations? Gas perks would be nice.

What exactly is the difference between a "business" card and a regular consumer card? I have an Amex Platinum Business card but all it has is a pretty crappy 1% cash back.

Chase Freedom, but they're slowly getting rid of the perks for everyone. Yours are probably gone already since you never used it.

Ahhhh.... there we go! Just to double check, did Citi ever have any great cards like that? I'm pretty sure it was Chase that I'm thinking of, but it might also have been Citi.

Citi has a good rewards card, yes. I use the American Express Blue Cash card for my cash back -- it passes the Chase Freedom in cash back if you charge quite a bit to it.

Are you referring to the higher cash back % after spending like 6 grand on the year? I'm currently using my Chase Freedom and thinking about switching over to blue but I don't think I spend enough.

Exactly. I charge everything to my Blue -- bills, groceries, condo dues, etc.

Once you spend enough money, the Blue is the better card.

Isn't there like an max annual cashback limit on the blue so even after plunking down 6k or whatever it is, you'll have already collected the majority of the allowed cashback such that if you overspend to a certain amount, the cash back rec'd is not worth it?

Not that I have experienced.

There's no cap on the AmEx Blue Cash card.

Consider the Pentagon Federal Credit Union Platinum Cash Rewards card (penfed.org).
5% on gas, 2% on groceries, 1.25% on everything else. No limits, and the rebate is credited automatically to your account every month.

The Blue Cash is better for big spenders, though, but I wouldn't use AmEx now. They are cancelling accounts without warning even on people with perfect payment records.
