Im trying to sell my house...

I know you can make a panoramic picture with a tripod, a camera, and software which I _think_ is called Quicktime VR. This was 6-7 years ago in high school though, so maybe you can make something more advanced with it these days...

The complex way would be to create a 3d model of the house and create a quicktime vr file but that would be very time consuming and probably not very practical.

The video is a great idea, but honestly, all you need are good pictures. Most states have a Multiple Listing Service site operated by the state-wide MLS association. These sites host pictures, and I think in some cases videos. When we were buying four years ago we didn't look at anything that didn't appear on that site with pictures, but honestly, a "virtual walkthrough" would not have made much difference. We used the pictures to rule properties in or out, not to get a detailed idea of what they were like.

lol, perhaps your parents are asking too much?

Yeah they obviously don't know what that would take or they wouldn't have asked it of you.

I like the video idea too, but still think pictures are fine.

EDIT: What about making like a webpage that has a simple footprint type layout of your house that they can click on the various rooms and each one goes to a page of pictures of that room. Gives the illusion of traveling through the house if the right pictures are taken.

Don't mind the blood spatter on the walls , or the creepy guy running towards you with the Chainsaw...he doesn't come with the house.

i think you should de-couple the 2 tasks. it's a good thing to
learn how to do, the virtual walk-through, but, why tie it
to the selling of your house ? pictures work great.

Autodesk has a very good full-function demo of 3D studio
max 8, on their website.

a year ago, it was revision 7, and then they were also
giving away the tutorials, which are superb.

incidentally, the tutorials, which consist of a big tutorial
program, have a whole bunch of example files. you open
up the sample file when you do the tutorial.

one whole chapter of the files is on a walk-through of
a house.

it takes time to learn ... it's good to learn. i say, take
a WHOLE BUNCH of pictures, pick the best ones, put
them online. get, hopefully, a good price for your house.
find a friend who is eligible for the educational software
discount. i'll stop there.
