Yeah, wait til you get your sense of smell and taste back to full power to pack on the pounds!!

Do you know what the best part of my quitting was? My 77 year old Mom, who had just lost my Dad a few years earlier (after 45 years of marriage), telling me how proud she was of me. Yeah, it's corny, but it felt good anyways.

So here ya go, man......I'm proud of you!! :cookie:

Think about your mortality. It'll make you think twice before you smoke another one.

I've quit a couple of times. The last time I was smoke free for an entire year. I was positive I'd won. The problem was the cravings have *never* stopped, no matter how long I was smoke free. I guess I'm saying you're going to have bad days for a long time to come. Everybody always says it gets easier, but in my experience, it never does. Good luck!

I have been taking multivitamins, vitamin C supplements (with rose hips) plus quit smoking herbal pills and lozenges.

I've drank alot of juice, a couple of homemade fruit smoothies, and megagallons, of green or white iced tea (The white is Republic of Tea Pineapple guava...great stuff)

Thanks again for the support guys, hopefully today it doesn't get as bad as yesterday, to be honest, I can't believe I made it through yesterday without smoking.....

Each new day will be better than the last, so just hang in there man. Look at it this way, your lungs aren't gonna be coated with any more tar from the smokes.

In a few days, you'll start noticing an increase in energy and stamina. Wake up early one morning, go to a nice park for a morning walk. Breathe in some of that fresh morning air, and you'll get one of hte best reason why not to take up smoking again.

Good luck man, and make sure you have something to do when you get a craving. If you can divert your mind for 5 minutes, the craving will go away.

I had quit smoking a little while back, and I become addicted to golf instead. :( Now I'm even poorer.

Good luck!

The cravings do lessen and get farther apart. Deal with them one at a time. When one hits, do something to take your mind off it. Get up. Move around. Play a game. Do a chore. etc. There's only one cigarette you have to avoid - the next one. Thinking about them like that made it easier for me, anyway. Maybe it will help you. If you need help from lozenges, patches, gum, take it! Anything that makes it work is a good thing.

I quit after many, many years of pack a day smoking. Used the patch. It worked for me.

question.. u did that step 1 21mg step 2 14mg step 3 7mg thing?

You have a physical addiction. It's besto to admit that and go from there.
You do have the mental capacity to, unaided, overcome this.
I was a 1-2 pack a day smoker for 5 years (not as heavy for 4 years previous) and quit cold turkey.

If you CAN'T quit cold turkey, see a doctor and quit by whatever means necessary. You need to quit. Keep at it!

go hit the gym hard! do tons of free weights. Your anxiety should lessen when your body is dead tired and you feel the burn in your muscles.
