I'm trying to make my computer a loud mofo!

Just curious,... how loud do you want it? Mine runs at 59db @ 1m.

I hope it's not in the same room you either watch tv in, or try to sleep in... That would be annoying as all hell to me... I [like most people without severe mental defects] try to make their system as quiet as possible without sacrificing cooling... That's probably the largest driving force behind processor/system cooling advances...

No, it's in the basement with two other machines. The only thing going on down there is computer stuff and storage. So the noise does not bother me,....now if I built a media machine for the home theater, that would be a different story ;-)

cut a strip out of a playing card and tape it so the end touches a fan. that'll make a lotta noise. Infact, so it for every fan in your case

You could always put a mic inside your case and hook it to a surround system. Loud, obnoxious, what more could you ask for?

i've got this generic 120mm fan, that pushes more air than i had thought possible from a fan,
prolly in the 50+db range though, i can't stand to be in the same room with this thing on.
the brand is sunon
serial# PMD1209MPB1~A

You silly people 😛 All he needs is to find some high-powered speakers and a looped MP3 of a jet engine or something. Put the speakers inside the case, crank up the volume, play the MP3, there ya go. 😛 He can have a little MP3 player in there to play the track, if he doesn't want to tie up his usual media player software with it.

Or there's these quad-ball-bearing 120mm Deltas, but I don't know of any store that sells 'em.

How about getting someone that does skydiving to record the wind noise on the way down... Loop that through some ~100W speakers (at least a pair of them) and bathe in the noise... Of course, he'll be deaf in short order from that, but we don't really care about that... Do we?

why the hell would you want a loud computer? what do you gain by having one, besides a headache?

My thoughts exactly... I like silent computers...

Ok a few things:

I know a lot of people undervolt their fans to make them spin slower. What about OVERvolting them? Get a nice healthy Delta and get it to spin like 4000+ RPMs.

Mic in front of case speaker, set MBM5 to alarm when your CPU gets over 15C.

Doesn't FrozenCPU sell a 150mm fan? I remember it was like 200cfm and 59dba or something.

Stack fans. Especially ones that have different RPMs. Whereever you have room, screw another fan of the same size to a fan. And for fun have them blowing at each other.

Attach fans to your monitor and have them blow at your face.

Hit yourself repeatedly with a blunt object. It accomplishes the same thing anyway, and much more effeciently.

I could help you out with that, I have plenty of stereo audio of skydives.......

This is insane, yet funny.

OP if you are going to use one of those high RPM 120mm fans make sure you have a REALLY strong PSU. I would reccomend PCP&C or OCZ. Look at the Amperage that takes just to power up.

better yet, buy 3 or 4 psu. mount them along the top of the case about 2 inches above it, and 1 where it should normally go. replace the entire side panels, top and non used space in the front and rear with the
64.8 dba, 220 cfm from post 41 or so . then install the loudest fans for your gpu, north bridge, south bridge and cpu heatsink. if youre lucky, when you turn it on, you'll fly.
