I seriously haven't watch TV in like the past two months - but I've been paying for the crap. I could easily shave 50 bucks off of my cable bill by doing it - should I?

The times I do catch a glimpse at the box, it's always just the local stations at that.

Sure, I've been thinking about that too since my parents don't watch much tv and I'm never home and I usually d/l my tv episodes anyways and besides the OC is on fox.

you might need it later, this is a big step, you better think about it for a good long time before you take such a drastic step

I hardly watch TV too but I can't cut off cable because of the sci-fi channel (Battlestar Galactica, Stargate SG1, Stargate Atlantis)

I'm thinking the same thing, but wouldn't it suck when your loaded at 4 in the morning, and all you can do is laugh incoherently at Cheers, and it's not on!

I don't know - the show was hot the first season - went downhill from there for me.

I cut out digital cable and all the other fancy boxes they sell you on and just have basic cable now (need my Sci-Fi and ESPN). My bill went from 79.99 to 24.95 per month

Word.

With the new seasons about to start you would have to pry my cable connection from my cold dead hands.

The 5th season just started Monday night. I'm hooked again.

It's funny, after watching it the other night I couldn't help thinking that David and Keith's relationship is probably the healthiest on that show by far...

we cut the cable off for a few months, but once nba playoffs started, the bf couldn't take it anymore and turned it back on.

i didn't mind, i was watching all network shows at the time. i just missed all the random shows that would come on and mindless reruns. we only have basic channels also, so i never watched HBO anyways.

yep.. pretty much the same thing. Just stick with the basic cable stuff. I only need to watch the Mets (and other baseball..YES Network, ESPN and TBS), news channels, History Channel, TV land and Sci-Fi..thats about all I watch anyways. Just get the most basic plan and see how much you would save..or maybe they have a very basic plan where you could choose only the channels you want for a low price.

Cut it off ... I'm about to do the same with my satellite. All I do is watch the occasional golf tournament, or basketball game. Not worth the amount we pay!

Yeah, dump it. If you find you can't live without it you can always get it hooked back up.
Whatever you do, don't add a splitter in front of your modem and steal basic cable. That's bad.
