I'm thinking about buying this exercise equipment

I love to work out, but I can't find time to get to the gym. After I get home from work, eat dinner, cut the grass/take kids to softball/clean up house/help get kids to bed, it's well after 9pm, then by the time I could make it to the gym, it'll be 9:30, and they close at 10pm. I need to work out at home, but I don't want to take up a bunch of room with free weights and walker/ski machines. Walking though Sears, I saw this cool new device from ProForm that is an automated strength trainer/cardio trainer all in one. Here's the link:

http://www.proform.com/cgi-bin/ncommerc...menbr=979&prrfnbr=746858&cgrfnbr=10675

From what I've seen this type of device is new on the market, and it worked really well when I tried it out. I can get $40 off this price from Sears, and the price would be 1/4 of what I pay yearly for a health club. They also offer a 4 year extended warranty for only $78 more (so I don't have to worry about all those moving parts). What do you think?

dunno, but i've been looking for an elliptical trainer as well, so i'd definitely be interested in hearing what others have to say.

Personally I see a problem with that machine (that may sound dorky). I do my ellipitical while watching TV. It would be mind numbingly boring if I was just facing a wall or just listening to music. With that machine, it looks like it might make it unnecessary difficult to watch the tube. I'd get two seperate machines for strength training and ellipitical personally.

What rip off of a health club charges $4000 per year for a health club? Do they give you complementary blow jobs?

It's a membership for a family of 4. They have pools, saunas, massage, etc, but we never use that stuff.

don't buy new. there are tons of used machines like this on the market that you can get for a song and dance once fat nonmotivated people finally realize they won't use them for anything other than laundry holders.

Get up early and go to the gym.

Buy that peice of crap, and I guarantee it will become a clothes hanger within a year.

I've always thought that, but I've been having a hard time actually finding anyone like that with an elliptical machine. So instead of getting some nice, low impact cardio on an elliptical machine, I went out and joined a Gaelic football team. Which is decidedly NOT low-impact cardio, but it is a hell of a lot cheaper.

I'm already getting up at 5:30 to get the kids ready for school and me ready for work....like I said, I have no time 🙁

Everytime I see a "new better than ever, will make you lose 10 pounds over night from using it only 3 seconds a day, once a week machine" I have to laugh. Just look at that thing!! I bet it catches radio signals from far off planets.

Whats wrong with finding a 24 hour gym? The AnyTime Fitness where I have a membership, gives out magnetic keycards that allow entrance at any time, day or night.

my friends have the Bowflex, they swear by it..if I had the room I would get one to

Anybody who has worked out for an extended period of time at a gym with freeweights will tell you that bowflex is an absolute joke for anything beyond heavy toning.

Again...I have no time to go to the gym anymore. Besides, there are no 24 hour gyms around here.
