Ok people... I have a 233Mhz processor on my computer. Yeah I know, that is so 1997. Ah well. It was given to me for free and besides it's the fastest freakin 233 I've ever used. It runs faster than my friends 333Mhz Celeron and almost as fast as my dad's 400Mhz. That is because I have 256mb RAM. But it is still not enough. I need to overclock this sucker to whatever I can get out of it... safely. Think 300 is asking too much? I bet my flash and powerpoint presentations would work faster :). I know it's a GenuineIntel processor. I'm am not exactly sure what the motherboard specs are...but it's the old kind where it doesn't even have freakin' USB ports or PS/2 ports on it and no AGP slot. My friend bought some parts that he was able to put one ps/2 port on there and 2 usb ones. So I've got one I need... except some of the speed. I got a nice cable connection...that's not a problem. If anyone has any info, please help me. Thanks. :)

PetraFan007,
If I'm correct, I'm almost possitive that you have a slot 1 motherboard. I have two options for you. First, I have a Celeron 266 that does a guaranteed overclock to 400 MHz which I'll give to you for free if you want to pay for shipping. Second, I have a Celeron 566 on an Abit slotket adapter which does a guaranteed 850 MHz. PM me and we can talk about price for the second option.

I don't think so. The Pentium 233 MHz was an original Pentium (Socket 7 not slot 1). He is as high as Intel can take him on a socket 7. There is the opportunity for overclock though if the motherboard supports it. If it is a Super 7 board then he could put in an AMD K6-2 which would boost performance. But most Super 7 boards I know of come with an AGP slot, so it probably isn't. If you can find the motherboard manual online it would give you some good information about what FSB speeds and multipliers the board supports and how to change them and then you could go after some overclocking...
