So being ignorant to what is going on in your locality, state, US, and international is the best way to insure that sadness and depression is kept at bay.

I watch the early morning news as I get a good mixture of news, weather, and traffic conditions. They never seem to dwell on any given subject which is great. I never waste time watching evening news or sensational opinion shows as they do tend to dwell on given subject that truly do not deserve attention the receive.

I was speaking to people like my father. He has CNN and Fox News on all day. They just go over the same news story a million different ways. How many times a day do you need to hear about Ebola? Or the plane crash a few months ago? It creates fear.

Look at the missing plane incident a few months ago. People were scared to go on a plane after what happened. It doesn't matter that in a given day there are thousands of airplanes flying around. Its the same with Ebola. You have a greater chance dying from diabetes.
 
I missed that one as well. I chose 25%, but looking back, that choice was too high.

I was surprised that only 50% of people 18-29 knew Ukraine was once part of the soviet union. What the hell?

That demographic has grown up post Soviet Union. Not really that surprised.
