My landlord at work will give me free dsl if I can connect to his router without my computer seeing his network. He has a new pre-N wireless from Belkin and wants to be assured my computer will not see his files and such(just the internet). Are there ports that can be turned off in the router or do they need to be open for the internet.

Thanks
Steve

If you conncet to his Router with a wire you can plug the wire on your side into a second Router and configure a second Network.

If you need to connect Wirelessly you need a Group Birdge (like WET11) to be pluged into your Router.

So if I connect a second router between his router and my computer I will not be connected to his networked computers? That can be done easily.

Well sort off, in order Not to be able to connect to his Network you actually have to connected your Router first and he has to be connected second (look here for an example http://www.ezlan.net/shield.html ).

However if he cannot bear the psychologically barrier that you are connected first and he is connect second, and he insists to be first, you would not get automatically to his Network unless you really try hard, and if he puts software Firewall on his computer/s he can block the IPs of your secondary Network.
