Im such an idiot... What am I to do?

It looks like things have caughten up with me these last few days....

I am a single 22 year old with a decent job and I happen to work with a married woman who happens to be about 15 years older than me. She is married and has 3 children. I've been at my job for about 4 months now, and I've found out that she is fvcking the manager.

The company I work for is fairly laid back and everyone there gets along great with one another.

The lady I work with happens to be very good looking and is a flirt.

I have gotten to know her fairly well and we have went out on occasion, I have enjoyed her company, and from what I could tell she, mine...

However...

I made a pass at her and got rejected (which I can deal with).... But now it seems like everyone at my workplace has the impression that I want her and I don't know what to do...

I feel like a complete retard for even trying to hook up with this chick, and I don't know what I should do....

The lady in question is a good person from what others have said about her... She seems like the type that would go out of her way to help others, she is an active member of the community, and always helps people whenever she can.... This is mainly the reason that I was attracted to her...

She does not strike me as the type that would willfully make me feel like a complete tool by laughing at me behind my back and mentioning this to others... I think that she might have mentioned this to the manager she is screwing around with and it spread from there....

I don't know what to do...

Normally I could take a hint and move on... But the thing that completely aggrivates me to no end is that she is too damm nice and is always flirting and I don't know how to deal with this.

Did I fail at life?

get over it and move on. You might be the talk of the office right now and for a while to come, but at some point, could be a day, could be a week could be a month or year...who knows...something else will come up that makes you a second or even third thought. i.e. the woman who you hit on and is screwing the boss could end up knocked up, divorced or they will break up....remember she's a married woman fvcking around, if she is doing it on her husband now, the chances are pretty good she would have whored around on you too at some point.

It's entirely likely that she was feeling defensive about her antics with the manager, and is using you to distract others' attention from it. Don't take it personally, but don't create more opportunities for that to continue, either.

Does everyone know that she's screwing the manager or is that not public knowledge? If they do, then I don't know why they'd be on you for trying to hit on her. If they don't, then if someone says something to you about it, just say "Well I changed my mind when I found out she was screwing Xxxxx...."
