I'm such a noob when it comes to asian food

Today I walk into my local asian grocery store and was overwhelmed by all the choices there.
There was English on some of the packages, but a good portion of it was in Korean only. I'd like to learn more about the food, but it's a bit hard when I can't understand what any of it is 🙁

I left with a can of seasoned seaweed and some aloe vera soda and really enjoyed both. I was tempted to get some seasoned squid, but I'm not sure I'm ready for that just yet 😛 What other foods should I take a look at? I'm not afraid to try some asian recepies either.

Welcome, noober.

What do you like eating? Any preference in sweet/spicy/sour or just looking to try out anything. You're in unknown and uncharted waters for you here. The asians of ATOT will mull over your plea for help.

I enjoy spice and flavor. Some of the seafood looked really good, I just have no idea how to cook/use any of it.

You had me until chunks. Don't think I'd like that, lol.

Its like.. think minor pulplish orange juice with a sweeter taste. Can't explain the taste till you try it. It's not exactly like soda.

As for a list.. Dunno what to recommend with someone looking for anything. Just start out with the stuff a lot of americans go for like nongshim ramen, chinese sausages, frozen meat dumplings.

Snack styles, some off the top of my head

Wasabi Peas - hit or miss
Spicy Dried Seaweed - called Nori from the japanese but personally I like the korean one better
Senbei / Osenbei - rice crackers, get quality ones not cheapos
Koreans also have their own version of funyuns if you're into that, bright green bag.
Bin ddae duk - Korean pancakes that are already prepared to eat (it's in the prepared food section)
BBQ ribs / Kalbi / bulgogi / etc - same section as above usually, just drop some into a skillet and flip and you're done.

There's millions of stuff, the question's hard to answer when you're wondering about everything 😛.
