I'm stuck. What does "Ordinal 1001.... DLL WSOCK32.DLL mean?

This one has me stumped.

IE won't connect to anything and I can't check my IP address. When I try the IPCONFIG I get the following error:

"The odrinal 1001 could not be located in the Dynamic Link Library WSOCK32.DLL."

It happened right after installing SP1a. The strange part is that I was able to remap my network drives and have full access to my personal file server.

I can see the problem is with the Winsock but how do I repair it? I tried the WinXP knowledge base and didn't get a single hit. Tried repairing the connection with the repair tool in XP but no dice.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!!!

Looks like you somehow have the wrong version of winsock. Can you search your drive and see if you find any other hits for it. Is there any other 'things' you may have installed (like the Microsoft proxy client) that replaces winsock?
