Well if you are going to try OC, then definitely DFI lanparty nf4, and it is a stable board. I actually JUST ordered my computer, it is a 3700+, x800xl, dfi lanparty etc etc 🙂 it shud be here in 3-5 days and i can start tinkering. Hopefully no DOAs.

where are you ordering, im getting a combo from monarch for the games and im not comfortable putting the hsf on myself. and let me know how the instalation goes

Well I am ordering from www.ncix.com (they are having a sale that ends on monday, shaved off $200 from my price 🙂), I ordered an XP-90 and Panaflo 92MM fan(reviews from people said it fits fine with their XP-90). I will let you know in 3-5 days when it gets here 😛 if everything goes good and it gets here.

You can OC with the MSI too. Just to let you know, DFI boards arent the only ones that can overclock. Almost all boards have that option.

Ya but DFI is the king of OC!

Go with either one, they are both good. For a first timer, I would lean towards an MSI because the DFI board might be confusing with all the different oc options. They will both oc just as well, the dfi is for more extreme overclocking.

i second the epox board. msi is having some bios issues however most seem to be resolved with venice and san diego cores... just don't use a winchester with it right now. should become more stable in future bios revisions.

my PERSONAL order of preference for those are very good with computers:
1.dfi
2.epox
3.msi

for those who've build 1+ system before
1.epox
2. msi
3. dfi (only if have time and want to learn some stuff otherwise go with msi)

2+ systems before:
1.epox
2.dfi (close second)
3.msi

they're all good boards... epox to me is the best overall... currently holds 2nd place in overclocking ability next to the dfi... and is more stable than the dfi, esp for those who don't build the system around a dfi mobo. msi is having some bios issues but its definately worth a shot too... and more than likely will be fixed in future bioses (only reason why its 3rd.. besides the fact that epox also beats it out in ocing). just don't use a winchester core with it right now and get it from a place that has good rma policies (as with all boards).

i looked at the epox i didnt like it because it didnt have a built in firewire port that was the main thing why i didnt like it

if you are interested, I made sure all the parts are compatible after many days of research 😛

Dude...I just ordered almost the same thing as you, I went with 2x1GB of OCZ Gold VX though. I also went with a MSI x800xl instead of the Asus and I went with an Antec P180 instead of that case. I am so amped to get it delivered....NICE BUILD....good luck with yours.
