Im starting to get pissed at my university....

My school spends thousands upon thousands of dollars building stupid brick walls for people around campus to sit on, but they cant get a g0ddamn mail server that WORKS! Its gone down nearly 20 times in the past 3 weeks, and right now its been down for going on 48 hours. The problem is that all of my classes communicate by email, and its required to be through our schools email system (they sign us up automatically to the listservs through the online registrar - isis). The worst part is that finals are next week and im waiting on a CRAPLOAD of mail not only about my classes, but important info from advisors about next fall. Grrrrrrr....

Anyone elses school this stupid?

i feel your pain. my school blows ass bad. i've gone from starting to full and all-out pissed and anger toward my university. i hate it.

I know what you mean. My school's mailservers are constantly down. Just be thankful you don' t use BlackBoard for any of your classes. That software SUCKS ASS. :|

I used it for a 200 level english course and I didn't ever have any problems with it, except accessing it at work

Many universities are suck.

What's worse is that quite a few people complain but nobody does anything about it.

is the problem with the list server or with the mail server? if it's list server, i can understand... not too many list processors are capable of handling traffic from a large university. if it's the mail server... that's unacceptable. i've been here 3 years and it's only been down once, for about half an hour, in the middle of the night, due to a massive disk failure. i love the computing group here... we have our files backed up nightly, shipped to a different city weekly... it's first class

Its the mail server... I use my school addy for pretty much everything and lately its been a POS. I was finally able to connect about 15 minutes ago and got all 23 of the emails ive been unable to download over the past few days. Took almost 5 minutes though to get a connection...
