What's so funny? I find the fact that you have 1900 posts and have been here for a year hilarious. Why? Because in the 11 months you've been here, you've managed to post your way to almost two grand. Congratulations, computer nerd. I bet all your e-friends are typing 'lolololol' to you because you managed to 'embarass' me.

Oh, the video card. I forgot about that. Oh wait, it's not there. Fvcking integrated Intel BS. I want to see my Dad try to play his games on this. Wait 'till he sees them. Just wait. In a sick way, I'm happy. Maybe this will teach them not to waste their god damn money on suckass computers in the future without consulting me first. Idiots.

whats the big deal? Just buy a used $100 9800 pro and slap it in there. That machine will run HL2 just fine. Quit crying and get over it.

the 256-bit versions are still $200
It's good to vent ones problems, however as I see it you are the problem. All I can read is how you want this, that and the other thing. You have yet to do anything to help out the situation. Have you tried to assist in buying the computer besides looking at items on the net? Go out and cut lawns, collect cans, wash cars, something to assist.Salvatore
This statement really shows great respect for your parents.... They probally did this because they do not have the cash to buy $1500.00 worth of computer items. Perhaps wanting to see you happy they purchased the computer thinking that it was a good deal and also it was something they could afford.Maybe this will teach them not to waste their god damn money on suckass computers in the future without consulting me first. Idiots.
I'm going to see how much this cost them.
I do appreciate the gesture, but 8 years with a crappy prebuilt (Gateway) computer, and with my being the premier tech-head in the household, it would have been nice if they listened to me, or at least consulted me. Morons.

That is true but I don't agree that $200 for a video card is considered "cheap". (mainly because thats how much I shelled out for mine and I'm broke as hell now. lol)Originally posted by: Nik

My point was that the *good* versions are still cheap as hell and will run HL2 *better* than the crap versions.![]()

You know what? I'm going to install HL2 on my computer and tell my dad to watch me. I'll put it on high settings, and let him see the slideshow firsthand. Or I'll put it on YourCompSucks settings, and show him high-res screenshots to compare. Just watch. I'll be laughing.
