So someone backs up into my car last week in my apt and i get it all fixed. Everything is good again except last nite, some hoodlums thought it would be funny to put 2 dents in my car!!! Im sooo mad, considering i just fixed it. I really don't want to go thru insurance again to fix it as it will really skyrocket my bills.. Is there anyone in the Irvine, orange county area that has one of those car dent removers (the ones that suck out the dent supposedly) on those infomercials? Help an ATOT'er out!!

I've heard mixed opinions about those dent removers. Some people said they've been able to pull dents out and other people have said it either didn't work or made the dent worse. Either way, I'm not sure I'd trust something like that especially if it's being hawked on an infomercial.

In any case, I'm sorry to hear about your car and hope you can get it sorted out. :(

wow dude, that does suck pretty bad. Thieves and people that do things like what you mentioned, in general, are people I can't stand to be around. Do you know exactly who did it?

Where exactly are the dents ?, it would also help if you post the make, model and year of vehicle.

i have a white 99 4 door corolla.. i have one dent in the front left fender and one dent in the back left fender, near the trunk...

-sorry roger.. i wrote out the response to my previous post earlier and just didnt send it till now cuz i was doing some work..

Here's what you do ;

For the front ;

Remove tire
Remove plastic inner splash shield
Take two rubber mallets, hold one on the outside over the dent and strike the inside with the other one.

For the rear ;

Remove inner felt/carpeting from inside of trunk where the dent is located

Use same technique to remove the dent.

Might as well call it brand new after a tree fell on it, it got scratched up, someone backed up into it, and now someone beats it with their bare hands.....

Thats what you call bad luck. :)

I've seen that Dent Magic or whatever it's called at WalMart in case you want to give it a try. Not sure how much it was.

I read a review of them in consumer reports. They said they work well, but it's hard to get the glue off the paint when you're done.

Try looking up a dent wizard guy in your area. The Paintless Dent Repair works very well and is usually less than $100 per panel.

They are based on techniques real body shops/dent repair places use.

They are usually called 'Ding Repair' though :) even though some infomercials claim large dents (it is possible though sometimes, but may take a gazzillion kits and hours).

my car is mostly plastic but the roof, hood and trunk are not....each had dents....the only ones I couldn't get out were a slight depression (large and it looks like it came that way from the factory) in the roof and one in my trunk was a BB sized dimple and I over pulled it (my first ding attempt). The rest (about 6-7) came out and I can't tell where they were.

Not bad for $19 at Sears.

what does holding the rubber mallet outside the dent do? prevent it from bulging? how far outside do you hold it? i got me plenty of little dents. 01 Accord if it matters....
