A partner I had been working with for the past few years called me tonight up and said he wanted to go out on his own. I had figured this would happen even though we worked well together. He wanted a big apartment and a more upscale lifestyle where I reinvest almost everything I make. This created friction quite often.

I'm not upset. The second he brought it up I just said "Ok, I'll work out a fair buyout for you". He tried asking me for a larger 'cut' but I politely refused.

He has been a friend in real life so I'm not going to talk badly about him. I just hope he knows what he's doing.

The good thing is that this one seemed to end well, which isn't usually the case.

And since it sounds like you were living together 😕, now that you're on your own, maybe you can find a woman 😉
 
We weren't living together. What he wanted was (alot) more money to come out of our equity to live by his old college. Who knows what would have been next, a BMW, fancy clothes? All things I don't concern myself with.

And btw, I'd love to own a lemonade/snowcone store. Know anyone who's selling?
