No two or more humans can ever be equal.
No matter what you do to try and balance it they won't be, one will always have more money, better looks, more authority...etc.
Satan wanted to be equal with God and look at what that story has to say.
All animals are equal.
Some animals are more equal than others.

Psst, context is important. Do you think blacks should still be in the back of the bus?

Anybody who wishes for a strong America should hope to have a strong middle class. As goes the middle class, so goes America, as a strong middle class lets you have a wide tax base, with which you can pay for a strong military, a social safety net, etc. Moving towards banana republic stratification only hurts america in the long run.

This is not to say that democratic proposals to address the problem are actually helpful, of course.....

Hint: equal only means "the same" in math. It doesn't when you're talking about people. People can be equal while being very different.

Further, when we talk about equal, the key is that they have equal opportunity, there will never be equality of outcome.

Um are you aware that the back of the bus is the good side of the bus? People almost always choose the back seats over the front seats.

There is no such thing as equal opportunity.
I have known employers who won't hire someone black because their affraid of getting someone who is lazy and will sue if they are fired.
Equality only exists in math.

An employer who tells you that is retarded.

How about equal access to jobs, education, health care, and nutrition?

Fifty years ago the US had a government sanctioned Aparthied system which basically treated Afro-Americans as second classed citizens. Women and a number of other minorities have been treated the same way.

When I heard or read people demoan equality they are usually white men who are pissed off they are not getting the best because they are white guys.

OP is a moron. It's not about people being equal--no one is--but about giving people equal opportunities.

Arkansas, figures

You hate the premise of what the U.S. was founded on.

Since you don't like it why stay here?

You are free to leave and folks like me would prefer that you did just that post haste.

Bye

I think the only thing we can stop doing at this point is trying to repair past injustices by paying off the current generation.

Instead of easing our conscience by giving a bunch of scholarships or positions to unqualified individuals, we should be looking more at the root of any inequalities present today.

Simply handing out cash or lowering the bar does not right the wrong, it only robs teh individual of the motivation to try harder.

As for the OT... Equality is as people have said. An attempt to set everyone on a level playing field. If you can run faster or jump higher than your neighbor, then you are more than welcome to do so. But having a playing field that requires you to jump two feet higher just to make level with some others is not.

equality when it comes to society is about insuring that the same opportunities exist across all classes, all people but more importantly, that no law or social order infringes on the right of one class or group to live as they would.
