She didnt do anything heroic, she didnt do crap but get captured. She is no more important than the other soldiers who have been POW's. Give it a rest already.

She hasn't been mentioned in the off topic forums forever now.

It's been on the cable news channels all day

Welcome to the club, thanks for ruining my afternoon.

There is one significant difference between her & the other POW's:

She has breasts, & wears lipstick.

Why that makes it newsworthy, I do not know.

Maybe she'll show them?

Hey, she's going home today. Cut her some slack.

Sooner or later she'll be a distant memory. But yes, she is overexposed for some dumb reason. Don't cut the media any slack.

I have no problem whatsoever with her. She was doing her job.

The media is the one that I wish would STFU already. I don't care about her any more than I care about any other of our soldiers over there. I'm glad she's safe, & I'm happy for her & her family that she's home in one (relative) piece.

Other than that I don't give a fvck about her.

You think it'll be over soon? HA! FAT CHANCE!!! Remember that all this media speculation and hype occurred without her uttering one word to the public.

Wait till its time for her to tell "her story"...(hopefully in a Lifetime TV movie with Sally Field...that way I'll never see it...)

I agree.

What she went through was horrible but ........................

How about those know-nothing-never-been-theres that said she should get the Medal Of Honor????

apparently 19 year old female supply clerks who get injured are much more important and newsworthy then every other front line infantry soldier out there risking their lives. hmm, go figure...funny how american marines are getting killed over there everyday and all they get is a 30 seconds blurb on the news and this chick gets days and days of coverage. Jesus H. Christ.

part of the reason why this is so interesting to many people is that she was beaten severly and tortured through her entire time of holding.....

personally i feel that she is over exposed but you cant say that she dosent deserve something.... however you cant say the other guys that were with her and other POW's dont deserve some of this attention too

they say she was beaten severly (probably with the butt of rifles) several times a day every day of her capture... she had many broken bones including her back, arm, and both legs......

personally i do feel however that if you dont like it.. turn off the TV.. cause that's all you're gunna hear about for a few days.... TV is a privlige... not something you are forced to watch... so take it easy on a chick that spent a really long time in a prison camp / hospitals because she was beaten severely

what she went thru is UNDOUBTEDLY WORSE than what kobe bryant's accuser went through and i havent seen anyone complain about that yet

I thought the whole things was dumb. It's great she was rescued but there was nothing big about it.

I could be wrong, but I don't think she was tortured:

From cnn.com
Eleven soldiers died in the attack, and five others were taken prisoner. After the ambush, Lynch was taken prisoner and moved to a hospital in Nasiriya, where Iraqi doctors treated her.

On Tuesday, Lynch thanked "several Iraqi citizens who helped save my life" at that hospital.

I think her injuries were from the wreck. . .

Lynch was severely injured, it says, when her Humvee crashed into a 5-tonne US semi-trailer at high speed after being hit by a rocket-propelled grenade while trying to escape an Iraqi ambush.
Official report. May have been one cause of her injuries.

Thread about her bronze star, saying that she was probably not shot or stabbed

What are you smoking? Go search through CNN.com or the BBC. An Army Intelligence report confirmed that her injuries were from the wreckage of the Humvee. If it had not been for the Iraqi's, she would have have died. The going down with guns blazing was nothing but media propaganda.

One of the first of the three official reports on the incident was recently published in the Army Times. It was revealed that their weapons, virtually all of them, malfunctioned most likely due to poor maintenance practices. It seems the unit was assembled from the broken down and poorly maintenanced vehicles of a larger supply convoy. PFC Lynch apparently jumped into another HMMWV after her vehicle became disabled. PFC Lynch positioned herself in the HMMWV on the high portion of the center area inside, rather than down in a seat. When the driver of the vehicle started receiving heavy fire, she apparently drove erratically, plowing into the rear of a 5-ton, throwing Lynch against the front of the HMMWV and knocking her out along with killing the driver and seriously injuring the Captain riding in the vehicle with them. Lynch was taken captive in the aftermath of it all. It was mentioned that one young male soldier held his on on the .50-cal and killed an estimated 19 enemy soldiers before being shot in the legs. I don't recall if he made it out alive or not.

My brother who recently returned from Iraq and is an Infantryman put it best when he said, "F**k Jessica Lynch and her entire f**king unit. Because they couldn't do the minimum soldiering skills necessary to keep their equipment functioning and they got their a$$es run over by some Iraqis they are heros? F**k that! She's not a f**king hero."

I tend to agree with his analysis. Let me see if I can find the article or post it from the Army Times report.

Yup, in fact I heard that her gun actually JAMMED
Yes, I read that in the paper when they corrected the earlier story.

The real heroes are the ones who rescued her
Not even them. The "rescue" of her was going in and shooting up an undefended hospital full of the doctors and nurses who helped her. Grandstanding to create some good propaganda for the media.

Give her some credit. To this point, she has declined all interview requests....all movie offers...everything. The stupid media is over-exposing her thru no fault of her own. I'm sure she just wants to go home and be left alone. Especially after 3 months in the hospital.
